Second stage trip
- HH had issues with VME bridge module
- Timings have to be very precise, otherwise one runs into issues with module. But CAEN documentation is really poor.
- HH fixed issue with pulses - > Test with Ricky's crate on Monday.
- For trip we no longer rely on timing system, but module will handle it itself and trip on the falling edge.
- HH generating an additional 5us to existing 5us => 10us
- There's requirement for pulses to be no wider than 1us, but we should be good as timing system generates 900ns pulse. HH to confirm with MR.
- HH added two more status bits to recognize status of connection (connection timing system to BLM and connection FSD to timing system) unplugged, i.e., if pulse is longer than 1 us.
- As soon as trip is cleared to go back to stage 1, these bits are also cleared.
- HH to update documentation and perform tests with test crate next week.
HV BLM issue (iseg)
- HH had a look at the spares storage rack and did not find a single slot HV PS, but only a couple 2 slot units.
- There is a metal cover over the entire board. It looks like iseg did not want a users to open it up just to change the module address.
- There seems to be no manual way to set the address.
- AD to set address via IOC shell tomorrow (Friday). Work permit required.
- Exchange first and second module to see if trip issue moves for next Post Mortem tests.
E-hall work
- AL, MA connected all detectors in e-hall on Tuesday and tested all PMTs with LEDs except EHAT:PMT4, which had an SHV connector on LED cable in the hall instead of BNC. But label was correct. HH to replace connector after meeting.
- Also tested all LICs by ramping up voltage and checking response.
- AL changed all high energy labels on the roof and reconnected things.
- MA reconnected all Ar lines. Now have sufficient flow rate. But turned off Ar for now until we expect beam.
- Helmholz coil was installed this morning. AL, MA to install low energy detectors today. And install spare detector for diagnostics as requested by Brandon.
- After low energy detectors are installed, work in e-hall should be finished for the moment.
Fibre
- No update
- MA to test PMT
- Might use empty channel on module 1
AOB
- HH replaced broken HV connector on roof for ELBT:PMT1C.
- AD to correct LED label in epics on driver from EHBT:PMT4 to EHAT:PMT4.
- MA: Wiki now accessible without vpn connection. Should be ok, as documents are only linked and not uploaded. To access those one still has to use vpn.
- AL still needs to write up doc for LED calibration. For LICs, we'll probably just use regular spills (in between targets for instance) to test LIC response in the future.
- MA, AL to do Post-Mortem tests.
- AD approved Martin's document in docushare.
Action Items
- AD to set address via IOC shell tomorrow (Friday). Work permit required.
- MA, AL to do Post-Mortem tests.
- AL to write up doc for LED calibration.
- MA to test PMT for fibre
- MA, AL to install low energy MPS detectors and spare.
- HH to continue on second stage trip and update documents.
- MA to check with Doug on cable floor protective covers
