BLM calibration
- AL preparing documents for requirements and specs
- Needs to be done at reasonable background levels, i.e., not with high dark current conditions from cavities.
- Should this go hand in hand with scan to verify coverage after a long shut down period?
- Add flow chart for sequence of events
- AL to implement comments for BLM calibration requirements/specs document and send out to reviewers
- Add requirements: For instance, beam needs to be off for calibration, cavities off => procedure during downtime
- Add Rod, Alex and Brandon as reviewer, Mike for final approval
- Make sure to define times precisely
- Use 2 calibration points for PMTs to verify linearity
View screen / BLM interlocks for tuning

- 6-7 VS with 1 or 2 BLMs to be prevented from tripping
- Be clear on definition of "disabled". Trip function should be disabled, but readback must be available.
FLASH/Darklight effect on MPS
- Darklight and FLASH installation complete
- Email from Luca Egoriti last week: hoping to put beam on the FLASH station (the old EMBD dump) as soon as the e-linac is back in shape, and since the shielding envelope has changed we foresee higher dose rates in the ehall coming from the target/dump. Hence, we wanted to let you know since there might be some MPS work to be done to accommodate the modifications
- Recommissioning required for medium and high energy section.
- 1kW for FLASH dump in pulse mode. 1W in continuous mode. There might be extra room for BLM thresholds ==> AL to follow up with Luca E.
- original dump design was for 500W ?
Fibre
- MA in contact with Hamamatsu on lead times for PMTs. Seem to be around 2-3 months.
- 2 PMTs may be available from Conny
- Thomas Lindner took his PMT back end of 2021
- Thomas L. had factory/of-the-shelve fibre coupler. We may need 3D printed coupler and just buy connector. HH thinks this is possbile. Have 3D printer with black plastic available for use.
