1) Status

  • E-hall is open today.
  • Emergency opening on Monday. Turbine issues.
  • Warm oil tank.
  • One of the insulators cracked. Keep running, but need to monitor tank.
  • Following up on reason for EGUN:BIAS trip due to a stage 2 trip from EABT:LIC3B. This was due to losses from EACA. Caused a dozen trips towards end of the test. But detector worked as it was supposed to.
  • Observed spikes in charge reading of EABD:PMT0. Irregular. Noise pick up? Not dramatic, but noticeable regular spikes. May hint at developing problem.
  • Before end of 2023 year, there was an issue with EMBD:LIC2 (Sudden trips). Did problem come back during the last months? Brandon and AL checked connections, couldn’t find any visible problem. ==> No re-occurrence since last year.

• How long will shut down be? • When is Darklight going in/out? • Expect differences with coverage when Darklight goes in • EHD line after EHDT:MB4 to the dump will be completely changed. One mode with darklight target out and one mode with darklight target in. • Darklight will need 10kW. Will it be heavily shielded? • Collimator will be installed in front of the dump. • BPMs are getting moved. Not used in the same way. • Who shuts down beam when collimator sees to much • Need similar channel. Target this in the upcoming shutdown. Modification to the daughter board. Solder 2 capacitors. And • Document to share the specs. An order of magnitude of power. Need specs from Stephanie. No CW, just pulsed. • Verify connections before shielding goes back. • Commissioning for beamloss monitors done • Run to EMBD. HV pick-up. Expect to be contacted. Number for LIC defeat in FLASH report. • 6-8 weeks shut down. Doug needs to install collimator behind the dogleg. Takes until April •

2) Interlock functionality testing

• Any time for this? • 3 BLM force functions have been completed • Do the rest during shut-down. • Mike fixed that one LED wasn’t lighting up. • Still inconsistencies in messaging, but otherwise functioning nicely

3) Simulations

  • Progress from Alexey
  • Need to benchmark simulations with what we see in the e-hall.
  • Could use old scans/spills
  • If required, do this before the BL4N collimator shut-down

4) Fibre

  • No update.

5) AOB

  • Ricky is working on license enforcement system related to EOCEM replacement. Started looking at logic and planning to do the testing during the shutdown.
  • Calibration document
  • Planning for BL4N. We have 5 FSD modules. Need 2 for the other side of the tunnel
  • BLM modules (3 are in use)
  • Run fibre from 1 FSD to the other FSD

6) Action Items

  • AL to submit calibration document.
  • SR to send specs for collimator. Needed for integration into FSD shutdown.
