MPS meeting minutes – June 16th – 2022

Present:HH, RC, KL, AD, AL, MR, MA, SR, BH Meeting commenced: 10am PT Meeting adjourned:

MPS status

  • LIC0 trouble shooting
    • EMBD:LIC0 indicated red on "installed" status. Maybe module wasn't seated properly?
    • HH investigated this morning
    • It's fixed but unclear how this happened. Maybe during FLASH update
    • In future verify epics status after working on crate
    • Check seated status, Argon, HV, PMT current readback
    • Similar to optics ok, given set of detectors to be turned on. Maybe modification of the run permit
    • Work request
    • Amend document for seated status
    • Calibrations
  • Argon flow started yesterday
  • Keiko updated signal PV in the alarm handler and archiver for former ELBT:PMT1A now ELBT:LICSP1 (spare channel)

S1 to S2 delay

  • the delay between stage 1 trip detection to stage 2
  • detect mode was fixed at 10us (plus some inherent delay through the FSD and timing system ~5us).
  • Delay is adjustable between 1us and 25us. Default is 10us.
  • Look for S2 trips. Log how many we get.
  • Brandon just started tuning and it tripped PMT1B causing S2. Dark current much higher?
  • EPICS indications for S1/S2 trips => Ricky to check what is indicated when at the moment and potentially adjust to avoid confusion
  • Maybe S1 and S2 LED.

FLASH

  • anything since last week’s email?
  • Board modifications complete
  • Still need to update epics conversion factors
  • HH thinks the modified board will work for FLASH. Before I it can be install, Controls will need to change the conversion factors on

the EPICS screen. Basically all existing conversion need to be increased by 100.

  • Rod to let HH know who will be make the changes and HH will email the “updated” user manual.
  • Ricky to update the conversion factors.
  • FLASH to run next week

E-Linac status

=> Brandon

AOB

  • The beam path restrictions are not really set up to make sure BLMs are running. Only checking HV for low-energy section
  • Can we implement this now for the medium and high-energy sections? Would this cause issues, when temporarily disabling detectors?
